Percy Jackson universe still has Harry Potter franchise potential
Just like the movies, the upcoming Percy Jackson series is about the titular main character who, as a young demigod, must prevent a war between the Olympian gods. In addition to Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell), his classmate Annabeth Chase (Leah Jeffries) and satyr buddy Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri) make up the main trio of characters in Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
The Percy Jackson universe consists of a total of five books so far. Enough material to create a larger fantasy franchise à la Harry Potter. The success of the first season of the new Percy Jackson series will show whether Disney succeeds. It is based on the first book and is therefore practically a reboot of the movies.
When exactly does Percy Jackson and the Olympians launch on Disney+?
The latest teaser for the Percy Jackson series also reveals the streaming start date. In the U.S., the fantasy production will run on Disney+ starting December 20, 2023.
First appear according to Variety two episodes at a time, then the rest of the first season will be released in weekly intervals. In Germany, Percy Jackson and the Olympians should launch at the same time.
