After the “Riverdale” end it goes with Archie and Co. on Netflix still

After seven seasons, the time has come: The last episode of the teen mystery series “Riverdale” has been released on Netflix. And although the previous series universe around Archie ends with it, fans can look forward to supplies…

In the course of its seven seasons, “Riverdale” has presented us with some dramatic developments, abstruse branches and shocking twists, with which even die-hard fans had their problems now and then. With the 137th episode now released on Netflix, the mystery series has now come to a rather conciliatory end – but of course not without one or two crazy ideas.

What exactly that looks like, you can now find out at the streaming service with the red N. And exactly there, after the “Riverdale” finale, there will soon be another adventure of Archie and Co. anyway – which, however, will be completely detached from “Riverdale”…

INDIAN MUSICAL ANSWER TO “RIVERDALE “

The storytelling universe of “Riverdale” has indeed finally come to an end with the seventh season, since the other series set in the same world are no longer running: “Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina” was canceled after four seasons (but the teenage witch was still allowed to drop in on “Riverdale” later), and the “Riverdale” spin-off “Katy Keene” even after the first season.

Another planned spin-off about the up-and-coming detective Jake Chang, also known from the Archie comics, was canceled while still in development. Instead, we can now expect a brand new adaptation of the stories about Archie and his friends that were already brought to life in the 1940s, which fans of the musical episodes of “Riverdale” in particular should make a note of:

This is what Archie and company look like in

“The Archies” will in fact be a musical reality film from Bollywood, which will relocate the small town of Riverdale to India (!) and be set there in the 1960s. More is not yet known about the plot, but there is already a first teaser trailer. And it already promises a lot of music, dancing and good humor – and thus also a much more cheerful tone than in most “Riverdale” episodes:

The main roles will be played mainly by Indian newcomers. For example, 22-year-old Agstya Nanda will succeed K.J. Apa as Archie Andrews. Most exciting, however, is the casting of his girlfriend Veronica Lodge. The role will mark the feature film debut of Suhana Khan, daughter of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

“The Archies” is still scheduled for a worldwide release on Netflix in 2023 – but exactly when is still unclear. The preview for September does not include the film, at least not yet. What you can expect next month on the streaming platform, you can read here.
