“I can’t walk, I can’t sit down on the toilet”:

by Mike

Charlize Theron has embodied a lot of action roles in her career. Now, in an interview, the Oscar winner admits she can’t put them down nearly as well as she used to…

A reassuring realization for mere mortals like us: even for perfectly trained action stars, some things become more difficult with age. Charlize Theron won her Oscar as an ugly serial killer in “Monster” – and the South African can also be quite funny, as she has proven in between comedies like “Long Shot”.

But the actress, who came to Hollywood through modeling, is of course best known for her action-packed performances in the “Fast & Furious” series, as Furiosa in “Mad Max: Fury Road” or in her own Netflix franchise “The Old Guard. “

In an interview with allure, however, the 48-year-old has now admitted that for her, many things are nowhere near as easy as they were at the beginning of her career – and that she had not foreseen these consequences of action film shooting in this way:

“What really annoys me is that when I shoot action films now and I hurt myself, it takes much longer to heal than it did when I was in my twenties. Even more than my 25-year-old face, I wish I had my 25-year-old body back, so I can just throw myself against a wall and it still won’t hurt tomorrow. These days, if I’ve ever been out of the gym for three days and then I start working out again, I can’t walk, I can’t sit down on the toilet. “

NO REASON TO HANG UP YOUR JOB

The fact that working as an action star gets harder (and more painful) as she ages doesn’t seem to be stopping Charlize Theron from continuing to take on more physical roles (albeit at a slightly slower pace than she used to): “The Old Guard 2,” for example, the sequel to her fantasy actioner about a band of immortal super-soldiers*, is set to launch soon on Netflix.

While her “Mad Max: Fury Road” character Imperator Furiosa will be played by Anya Taylor-Joy in the prequel “Furiosa,” Hollywood is probably still considering giving her “Fast & Furious” hacker Cipher (and the other women in the franchise) her own spin-off. And even if the female “Expendables” blockbuster was canceled in 2022, Charlize Theron would certainly cut a fine figure alongside Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham.
