Netflix now offers the wildest cinema spectacle of 2022 – and you…

With “Jackass Forever”, the chaos troupe around Johnny Knoxville has once again outdone itself. The as fun as highly unpleasant cinema return is now available in the subscription at Netflix – as well as the accompanying outtake parade “Jackass 4.5”.

When you’re watching “Jackass,” whether in series or movie form, there’s one thing you keep thinking to yourself: “That must have hurt like hell!” “Jackass Forever,” the fourth theatrical spin-off that no one really expected, pushes the pain level to the absolute limit, not only for the team in front of the camera, but also for the viewers. Jackass” has never been tougher – or better!

If you missed “Jackass Forever” in theaters and are eagerly awaiting a home theater release, the wait is over. Since September 8, 2023, the self-destructive stunt show with Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Wee Man and Co. is finally available on Netflix.

THE TOTAL ESCALATION

The opening sequence of “Jackass Forever” alone clearly indicates that “Jackass” has finally arrived at the cinema. Because after “Jackass 3.0” already came up with an almost groundbreaking use of slow motion, the fourth part begins with an action-packed homage to traditional monster cinema.

Here, we see a monster modeled on Godzilla flattening a small town. On closer inspection, however, it becomes clear that the monster is not a handmade replica – it is Chris Pontius’ penis, staged here by “Her” director Spike Jonze as a destructive beast.

In any case, “Jackass Forever” increases the number of painful and hellishly unpleasant stunts immensely in contrast to its predecessors. And penises – beware – are not neglected. In the official FILMSTARTS review, “Jackass Forever” earned a strong 4 out of a possible 5 stars. Editor-in-chief Christoph Petersen describes the film as “genital continuous fire” and states as follows:

“There’s grabbing on the face, puking all over, dousing with gallons of pig semen and shitting in the pants – and (almost) throughout at a monkey’s pace. At the same time, the spiral of pain goes on and on – from Ehren McGhehey’s quadruple grandiose failed genital protection test to a remake of Johnny Knoxville’s legendary clash with an enraged bull, which this time ends with several broken bones and a concussion. “

THE PERFECT SUPPLEMENT IS ALREADY WAITING ON NETFLIX

So you’ll have to bring a tough skin to sit through “Jackass Forever” – because squirming on the sofa in discomfort is at least just part of it. But if you just can’t get enough of the Chaos Squad, Netflix already has the next chapter ready for you with “Jackass 4.5.” As tradition demands, there is a small expansion to each part, in which unreleased scenes and alternative shots of the stunts are shown.

In the case of “Jackass 4.5,” however, it’s a mix of unused scenes and a kind of making-of, in which those responsible in front of and behind the camera comment on the shoot and reveal once again how they found the new crew members and how complicated the shoot was due to corona restrictions. For “Jackass” fans, the film is definitely a must-see!
