In May, the news made the rounds that Amber Heard wants to hang up her acting career. But before that, we can expect not only “Aquaman 2”, but also “In The Fire”, for which there is now a first trailer.

When it comes to Amber Heard (“All The Boys Love Mandy Lane”), the talk is no longer about her work as an actress, but exclusively about the media mudslinging that the 37-year-old has engaged in with her ex-husband Johnny Depp in court. A few months ago, the news did the rounds that she considered her career as an actress to be over and was turning her back on Hollywood. We now know that’s not the case.

Be that as it may, retirement or not: On 21 December we will get to see Amber Heard, who now lives in Madrid, in the DC blockbuster “Aquaman 2: Lost Kingdom”. Today, meanwhile, we can present you with the trailer for “In The Fire”, set against a historical backdrop. It promises an emotionally charged genre mix of period picture, drama and mystery thriller with hints of horror.

When and by which means “In The Fire” will be released in this country is not yet clear. In the United States, the film will be released in cinemas on 13 October and will be available for digital download at the same time.

THIS IS “IN THE FIRE “

The story written and directed by Conor Allyn (“No Man’s Land”) centres on New York doctor Grace Burnham (Amber Heard). She goes to one of the country’s remote plantations in the 1890s to look after an extremely disturbed boy (Lorenzo McGovern Zaini). As it seems, the boy has inexplicable abilities that cause his whole environment more and more turmoil.

Grace begins to treat the child, sparking a war between science and religion with the local priest Nicolas Marquez (Eduardo Noriega). The latter is firmly convinced that the boy is possessed by a demonic force – if not the devil himself – and thus the cause of all the village’s problems.
