With “The Expendables 4” he is currently in the cinemas, soon he will be able to let it rip again – and in a very brutal way. We’re talking about Jason Statham, who is out for revenge in the trailer for “The Beekeeper” (from the “Suicide Squad” director).
Jason Statham plays a man in “The Beekeeper” who, at first glance, is completely devoted to beekeeping. But when his neighbour (Phylicia Rashad) is relieved of all her money in a phone rip-off and subsequently kills herself, his bees have to take a back seat. Because now revenge is his focus. Even if he has to sever every finger of every person involved, he will not stop until he has destroyed the entire organisation responsible for the scams – which he soon discovers is more powerful than he thought. But even his opponents soon have to painfully learn that they are not dealing with a simple beekeeper here, but with the former special agent of a mysterious organisation called “Beekeepers”…
The action thriller “The Beekeeper” was directed by David Ayer. He is known for “Suicide Squad”, “Sabotage”, “Heart of Steel” and “Bright”, among others. The screenplay, meanwhile, was written by Kurt Wimmer (“Equilibrium”, “Salt”, “The Expendables 4”).
In addition to Jason Statham and “The Bill Cosby Show” legend Phylicia Rashad, the cast includes Emmy Raver-Lampman, Josh Hutcherson, Bobby Naderi, Minnie Driver as well as Jeremy Irons. The Beekeeper” does not yet have a German theatrical release date. In the USA it will be released in early 2024.
Jason Statham was a regular guest in German cinemas this year. He started the year with “Operation Fortune”, followed by “Fast & Furious 10” and “Meg 2: The Deep”. The Briton can currently be seen on local screens with “The Expendables 4” alongside Sylvester Stallone and co. In 2024, on the other hand, he seems to be making himself much scarcer. “The Beekeeper” is so far the only title with the former British diver that is already known to be released next year.
