Today, a Clint Eastwood masterpiece is on TV. The acclaimed drama includes a scene in which Clint Eastwood rebukes his real-life son Scott.
Clint Eastwood better not get stupid. That’s proven by his long line of extremely hard-boiled characters who don’t mess around until retirement age. The same goes for his role Walt Kowalski in the acclaimed drama Gran Torino, which is on TV today. And who gets in his way there? His own son Scott Eastwood.
Today on TV: In this scene, Clint Eastwood insults his son
Gran Torino revolves around grumpy and racist retiree Walt (Eastwood), who is at loggerheads with the Korean residents of his neighborhood. When the neighborhood boy Thao (Bee Vang) tries to steal his old Ford Gran Torino, the assault curiously leads to the two parties becoming closer.
In one scene, Walt protects Thao’s sister Sue (Ahney Her) from three teenagers and rebukes her boyfriend Trey for his inaction with a heartfelt “Shut up, sissy!”. It’s actually a standard Clint Eastwood scene, except for one detail that makes it a bit bizarre: Eastwood insults his own son Scott Eastwood in the role of Trey. I wonder if both of them were looking forward to the scene?
