The family man Roman (Schwarzenegger) loses his wife, his daughter and their unborn child in a tragic plane crash. Many other people also die when two planes collide. Air traffic controller Jacob (Scoot McNairy) is to blame. Both men are literally shattered by the consequences of the collision.

The air traffic controller is so heavily criticized that he is taken into a kind of witness protection program and has to change his place of residence. The movie is originally called Aftermath and is based on true events. Although the German-language title sounds more like an action-packed revenge thriller, Vendetta is actually a genuine drama and heavy fare.
Arnold Schwarzenegger does a very good job as a family man consumed by grief and pain. Which all those who only know the Governator from his action films might not believe him capable of.
