This movie belongs to the master class of the adventure genre and is an absolute must for fans of Avatar and Indiana Jones. We’ll tell you where to stream it.
Few films were as influential for the adventure genre as Lawrence of Arabia by David Lean (The Bridge on the River Kwai). The classic based on the autobiographical novel by T.E. Lawrence not only inspired Steven Spielberg’s Indiana Jones series and James Cameron’s blockbuster saga Avatar – Departure to Pandora. He also influenced author Frank Herbert in the creation of his groundbreaking sci-fi epic Dune, the second film adaptation of which by Denis Villeneuve can currently be admired in cinemas.
All the more reason to join Peter O’Toole, Alec Guinness and Omar Sharif in the Arabian desert for the first or second time. The film, which runs for around 3 hours and 47 minutes, is currently available to rent or buy as video on demand from Amazon and is also great cinema on the small screen.
