With “Creed 3” we can expect the third spin-off of the legendary “Rocky” series. While Sylvester Stallone himself is no longer involved, Michael B. Jordan faces his toughest opponent yet. Here is the trailer:
Old wine in new skins? No way! “Creed” and “Creed II” have impressively proven that the “Rocky” franchise can still be given new impulses, not only in terms of direction but also narratively. The two spin-offs preserve the spirit of the original series, but develop it in a largely independent way. An absolute winner here is Michael B. Jordan, who not only makes people’s eyes pop with his remarkable physique in the lead role, but also works excellently as a character actor.
With “Creed III” we can now expect the next offshoot of the “Rocky” series, in which Michael B. Jordan is no longer only to be seen in front of the camera, but also takes the directing post for the first time. We’ll see if this works on 2 March 2023, when “Creed III” opens in German cinemas. In any case, the first trailer, which has now been released, holds out the prospect of not only an action-packed, but also a rather emotional return to the ring.
watched the CREED III trailer. man, the best thing about Jonathan Majors is that you see photos and half expect him to be this beefy macho dude, but then you watch his performance and he’s a sensitive puzzling enigmatic charismatic ball of anxiety and personality quirks. king.

In “Creed III” Michael B. Jordan (“Black Panther”) gets to deal with Jonathan Majors (“Lovecraft Country”), who takes on the role of Damian “Dame” Anderson here. Next year we will also see Majors in “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania” (theatrical release: 15 February 2023), where he will embody the chief villain Kang.
Also in the cast are (again) Tessa Thompson as Bianca, Florian Munteanu as Viktor Drago and Phylicia Rashad as Apollo Creed’s mother. The fact that Sylvester Stallone is not in “Creed III” has a simple reason: he did not know how he should be integrated into the story. However, this does not completely rule out a short cameo.
The script for “Creed III”, meanwhile, was written by Keenan Coogler, the brother of Ryan Coogler, the creator of previous “Creed” films, and Zach Baylin (“King Richard”). Once again, both Creed and his adversary Anderson Dame will have to learn the hard way that they cannot escape their past. A motto that Rocky, too, has always kept in mind in order not to lose sight of his roots. So it is clear: Not only strong fight choreographies await us, but also great emotions.
