Besides John Wick 4, franchise fans are looking forward to the spin-off Ballerina. Now probably even more so, because Keanu Reeves will be there in front of the camera
Little was known about the John Wick spin-off Ballerina until now. James Bond star Ana de Armas is set to play the lead role, with franchise veteran Ian McShane joining as Continental boss Winston. Now, however, in a terrific reveal, it has been announced that Keanu Reeves will also be dropping in on the spin-off after John Wick: Chapter 4.
Keanu Reeves alongside Ana de Armas in John Wick spin-off: One big question remains unanswered
This is now being reported by Collider . According to the report, Reeves is currently in Prague filming Ballerina. However, it has not yet been clarified in which capacity he will take part in the spin-off. Anything from a major supporting role to a brief cameo is possible.
It also remains unclear when Ballerina is set in relation to the John Wick series. It may be a prequel, but a story around the time of John Wick 4 is also possible. In general, not much is known about the story of the spin-off. De Armas is possibly supposed to play the titular ballerina, who already made a brief appearance in John Wick: Chapter 3 and is close to the Ruska Roma crime syndicate.
When is Ballerina coming to the cinema?
Nonetheless, Reeves’ casting will once again give the spin-off special appeal in the eyes of many John Wick fans. Especially since they’ll have to wait a while longer for Ballerina. There’s no start date yet, but we don’t expect the film to be released until late 2023.
