A ghost with a receding hairline and a sweater can go straight back to being a horror creature. At least this is the experience of Stranger Things star David Harbour in We Have A Ghost. The comedy by horror expert Christopher Landon (Happy Deathday) is now available on Netflix.

Frank (Anthony Mackie) finds a spacious old house as his family’s new home, which for mysterious reasons turns out to be much cheaper than expected. They are quickly found, however, when son Kevin (Jahi Di’Allo Winston) discovers ghost Ernest (Harbour) in the attic.

With its bourgeois exterior, the actually quite nice ghost is a flat zero on the scary scale. But maybe it’s enough to become an internet sensation on YouTube? The result is a horror comedy for the whole family. For director Landon, the material is in some respects new territory, because even his more fun excursions into the scary genre have so far been tailored more to an audience of at least young people. Thanks to the talent in front of the camera (including comedy ace Tig Notaro), the film will be worth a look for many fans.
