Netflix’s One Piece series is launching as early as this year. Now it has been revealed who will portray the ray-finned fish-man Kuroobi in the live-action adaptation.
The anime One Piece and the manga of the same name by Eiichirō Oda will be adapted as a live-action series on Netflix this year. Many fans are already eagerly waiting to see how their favourites and the often exaggerated characters of the original will look in live-action form. Now, the cast of one of the many villains in Netflix’s One Piece has been revealed: the ray-fish man Kuroobi.
Villain in Netflix’s One Piece: Kuroobi is a feared fish-man pirate
The first season of Netflix’s One Piece adapts the so-called East Blue saga, in which the first straw-hat pirates gather around Monkey D. Ruffy and must defeat several nasty pirate villains at once. In addition to Captain Morgan and the clown pirate Buggy, these also include the fish people of the dreaded Arlong gang.
After it was already known that leader Arlong will be embodied by McKinley Belcher III, the fan site OP_Netflix_Fan has now found out which actor will play the role of Arlong’s commander Kuroobi: Jandre le Roux, who most recently starred in the Netflix series Ludik.

In addition to Iñaki Godoy (as Ruffy), Mackenyu (as Rorona Zoro), Emily Rudd (as Nami), Jacob Gibson (as Usopp) as well as Taz Skylar (as Sanji) take on the main roles in Netflix’s One Piece series. The casting of the Arlong gang will be particularly exciting for the character Nami. Because she works for the Fishmen pirates at the beginning of the series.
