Alfred Hitchcock’s “Vertigo” is not only a true classic, it is a milestone in film history and not without reason at the top of all kinds of best lists and polls. Now the masterpiece is to get a new edition!

The list of Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpieces is long, but “Vertigo – From the Realm of the Dead” not only has a special place in the filmography of the director mastermind, but is a highlight of the entire international film history. “Vertigo” regularly appears at the top of hit lists and polls and is considered by critics to be one of the most important films ever made – the film technology used alone was a milestone at the time. “Peaky Blinders” creator and “Spencer” writer Steven Knight should then have some work on his desk in the near future. Only recently we reported that he has been hired as a writer for the next “Star Wars” film, which is due to be released in December 2025. It is not yet known when the new “Vertigo” will start. John “Scottie” Ferguson (James Stewart) is a police officer, but quits after a chase over the rooftops of San Francisco. The mission ended traumatically and Scottie not only carries guilt, but now suffers from a fear of heights. He no longer sees himself fit to work as a police officer.

Some time later, Scottie is asked by a former classmate (Tom Helmore) to shadow his wife Madeleine (Kim Novak). Scottie is initially unsure whether he wants to take on this job, but then agrees. This is the beginning of a hellish trip for him, which in the end is not only about the question of true love, but also about life and death.
