The Netflix show Love Is Blind is the subject of controversy. According to one report, participants were treated with extreme ruthlessness.
Love Is Blind is a huge success for Netflix. In the dating show, participants get to know each other without seeing each other and even celebrate their wedding in the end if the outcome is happy. But things don’t seem to be going quite so well behind the scenes: Participants report inhumane production conditions, hunger, sleep deprivation and suicidal thoughts.

According to a report by Business Insider , from which Rolling Stone quotes, several participant:ins have had immensely negative experiences during filming. 20-hour shooting days reportedly caused sleep deprivation. A lack of sunlight, water and food, according to Season 2 contestant Danielle Ruhl, caused people to fight for a single boiled egg at times.
“They’re trying to break you. They want you on edge,” Season 1 star Danielle Drouin explains of the conditions. “I told [the producers]: I have suicidal thoughts. I can’t go on,” Ruhl also comments. Her objections were ignored. According to Business Insider, leaving the show faces a $50,000 fine unless the creators agree to the process.
Kinetic Content, the company producing the series for Netflix broadcast, already responded to the accusations. It stated that the “well-being of the candidates” is of paramount importance to them. Love Is Blind recently caused a stir on Netflix due to an embarrassing mistake.
