Towards the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, there is a dramatic moment with Peter that raises a logic question. James Gunn has already answered it on Twitter.
In the franchise finale Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the emotional moments are stronger than ever. Especially with Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and his past in focus, the MCU blockbuster makes for extremely touching and sad scenes.
Towards the end of the film, however, there is a dramatic situation with Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) that almost costs Star-Lord his life. A fan had a logic question about the scene, which director James Gunn answered directly.
That’s why Peter doesn’t have a helmet in life-threatening Guardians of the Galaxy 3 scene
There’s a dramatic scene near the end of the MCU blockbuster where Peter lands in space without a helmet. Briefly, it looks like the leader of the superhero team will lose his life here. In the end, however, he is narrowly saved by Adam Warlock (Will Poulter).
A fan addressed the question to Gunn on Twitter why Peter doesn’t have his helmet in this scene to survive in space. The director responded directly to this supposed logic hole that isn’t one:
It’s in his desk drawer in Knowhere. He had to get out of there fast as you know! (And as for the next question people ask – the rockets that clip onto his boots are far inferior to the jet packs Rocket has made them so they’re not around at all anymore). https://t.co/VgDAZJv3YC

With Guardians of the Galaxy 3, James Gunn has created his personal finale to the Marvel series. Possibilities for a return of the team members in upcoming MCU blockbusters still remain open, though.
