Long have we waited for the continuation of the fantasy film Willow. Hardly has the series arrived at Disney+, it disappears again from the program of the streaming service.
In 1988, Ron Howard brought the lovingly crafted fantasy film Willow to the big screen. Although the story of the titular wizard has found many fans over time, over three decades have passed before it was continued. Last year, the time finally came for Willow to launch on Disney+.
From November 2022 to January 2023, the 1st season of the Willow series was released. The sequel comprises a total of eight episodes. However, it is now certain: as quickly as Willow came to Disney+, the fantasy adventure will disappear again. On May 26, 2023, the streaming service takes the series from the program.
Fantasy highlight only briefly on Disney+: Willow series disappears in 4 days
If you haven’t seen Willow yet or want to watch it again, that leaves you four days before the series disappears on Disney+. It’s definitely worth a look! Willow can’t match the blockbuster bombast of House of the Dragon and The Rings of Power. Still, fantasy fans will get their money’s worth.
Here you can watch the trailer for Willow:
Willow impresses with a lovingly crafted world full of magical things, from the adventurous landscapes to the many different creatures. The heart of the series is the ensemble. Willow inspires with really great characters and thematically skillfully connects to the motifs of the original.
Willow is disappearing on Disney+: Where can you stream the fantasy series in the future?
What will happen to Willow after May 26, 2023 is currently unclear. For now, the series won’t be available to stream anywhere. It will go straight into the archives. Series creator and showrunner Jonathan Kasdan is surprisingly cool about the news.
