On Amazon Prime, the most successful horror film ever is now available, just like its sequel. A series is soon to tell the back story of both highlights.
Horror master Stephen King gave the world an extremely iconic monster with It. The story about a group of kids taking on a demon in clown form was most recently brought to the cinema by Andy Muschietti with It and ES Chapter 2. Both are now available on Amazon Prime Video.
On Amazon Prime: horror remake It became a historic success in the cinema
In the small town of Derry, children are constantly disappearing. A group of teenagers, who only call themselves the “Losers’ Club”, want to get to the bottom of what is going on. The youths, who grow up under sometimes shocking conditions, soon get on the trail of the clown demon Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård).
Muschietti’s version is not the first film adaptation of King’s horror story. Back in 1990, the novel was adapted for television as a two-parter. The new adaptation, however, broke all records when it was released. With a worldwide box office of 700 million US dollars (via The Numbers ), it is the most successful horror film of all time without adjusting for inflation.
Horror series Welcome to Derry to tell prequel to Es films
A series is soon to follow the horror success. Welcome to Derry is set 27 years before the events of the novel. In the early 1960s, evil in the form of Pennywise terrifies the small town. The series does not yet have a start date, but will probably come to the stream in the course of 2024.
Part of the cast is already known. Among others, Madeleine Stowe (12 Monkeys) and Chris Chalk (12 Years a Slave) will be seen in front of the camera. The series will also be produced by Muschietti.
