Before Fast & Furious 11 hits the cinemas, we can expect another spin-off starring Dwayne Johnson. Now we know which villain he’ll be up against.
Thanks to Fast & Furious 10, we know: Dwayne Johnson is returning to the Fast family – just in time for the action series’ grand finale, which is due to hit cinemas in April 2025. In addition, he is leading another spin-off after Hobbs & Shaw. Now an interesting detail has been revealed about the upcoming blockbuster.
According to Production Weekly, the new Fast & Furious spin-off is titled Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Reyes. Whether this is the final title or just a working title is unclear. Nevertheless, there is an exciting revelation: Apparently the villain from Fast & Furious 10, embodied by Jason Momoa, is returning.
Jason Momoa’s villain returns in the new Fast & Furious movie with Dwayne Johnson
In Fast & Furious 10 we meet Momoa’s villain for the first time. His name is Dante Reyes and he is on a personal vendetta against Dom Toretto and his family. Reyes is the most unpredictable antagonist in the series so far, at times the character has been referred to as the Joker from Fast & Furious.
The fact that Reyes is also part of the spin-off, which was paraphrased as Fast & Furious 10.5 in the wake of its announcement, can only indicate that the character will be expanded into an integral part of the franchise. Moreover, Momoa could provide decent star power to help the spin-off succeed.
While the title of the new Fast & Furious film hints at a big duel between Johnson and Momoa, the question is whether the spin-off will also bring back Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw, who faced Johnson in the previous instalment. In Fast & Furious 10, it just looked like he was packing his bags for the spin-off.
