Amazon is releasing a series remake of the Brad Pitt film Mr. & Mrs. Smith later this year. The first teaser offers an early taste.
It was the heyday of ’00s cinema: In 2005, the comedy-action Mr. & Mrs. Smith hit theatres and the world lost its mind. Two of the most attractive people on the planet faced off in a film that was made for them. Brad and Angelina Jolie are not in the new series version of the material. What is the Mr and Mrs Smith series about and who plays the main roles?
In the original, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie play two hit men who are employed by different agencies. They have no idea of their counterpart's true profession. They end up being set up on the same target, lose their cover and a marital spat begins that is waged with sharp weapons. It is not yet known if the series will change the story.
Donald Glover (Community and Atlanta) and Maya Erskine (Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi) portray Mr. & Mrs. Smith the married couple in the series remake. Originally, Indiana Jones 5 star Phoebe Waller-Bridge was intended for the female lead role. However, the engagement fell through.
