First record for the new “Paw Patrol” movie – and it’s pretty good!

After “Paw Patrol: The Motion Picture” became a hit, the sequel, “Paw Patrol: The Mighty Motion Picture”, should also do well at the box office. A first record has already been broken – and it’s not only awesome, but also pretty cute.

“Paw Patrol” has not only made countless children’s eyes light up as an animated series, but could also cause a stir on the big screen in 2021. “Paw Patrol: The Movie” became a hit with a global box office result of more than 144 million US dollars. A success story is now also expected from the sequel “Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie” – in Germany it has already provided fantastic preview figures last Sunday – and in the USA a world record.

But let’s take it one step at a time. First let’s look at the German figures: According to Paramount, 77,000 people have already bought a ticket for a preview of “Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie” in one of the 600 participating cinemas in Germany.

“Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie” achieved a similarly strong result two years ago – but it was shown in previews on two Sundays during the mid-August holidays. This means that the sequel is set for a mega-success – and if the extremely strong preview figures are to be believed, the predecessor will quickly be overtaken at the box office. However, as already mentioned, “Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie” was able to break the world record elsewhere…

OVER 200 DOGS MAKE FOR A WORLD RECORD!

At an outdoor screening in Griffith Park in Los Angeles, 219 dogs gathered to celebrate the release of “Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie”. This set a new Guinness World Record – for the most dogs attending a film screening. The previous record was held by “The Incredible Adventures of Bella”, which was attended by 199 four-legged friends at the Litchfield Skyview Drive-in on Route 66 in Illinois on 15 October 2022.

But behind the successful world record attempt was also a serious concern. Paramount Pictures teamed up with the Best Friends Animal Society in Los Angeles to draw attention to the fact that many animals were adopted during the Corona pandemic, only to be returned to shelters after the restrictions were lifted (or worse, simply abandoned).

Brittany Thorn, Executive Director of Best Friends Animal Society in Los Angeles: “I hope that people reading about this milestone will be inspired to adopt a dog. “
