It’s been known for a while that there will be a Christmas “LOL” special episode in December 2023. Now the start date for the special has also been announced: Starting on December 22, our laugh muscles will be strained again on Amazon Prime Video.
It will still take a while until the fifth season of “LOL: Last One Laughing”, because it will not be available on Amazon Prime Video until Easter 2024. Good mood until then is nevertheless guaranteed, because as was announced some time ago, fans of the successful comedy format can look forward to a “LOL” Christmas special in December 2023. And now it has also been revealed when we will have to stifle our laughter again together with the comedy stars.
From December 22, 2023, the “LOL: Last One Laughing – XMAS Special” will be available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. This is according to an official press release. Thus, the three-hour XXL special episode starts fittingly to sweeten the stressful Christmas days for us a little. So if you need a little distraction from the relatives after being cozy with your family, you might find just the right alternative program here.
NEW ADDITIONS TO THE “LOL” CHRISTMAS SPECIAL
By the way, the unusual running time of three hours is not the only innovation in the Christmas special. Unlike the regular first four “LOL” seasons, this time there are some changes that take effect in the special episode. For example, this time only eight (and not ten as usual) candidates will compete against each other – and in teams of two.
These are the eight contestants for the “LOL: Last One Laughing – XMAS Special”:
In addition, this time it is about celebrities who have all already competed at least once in the “LOL” laughing battle (frontrunners are Kurt Krömer and Anke Engelke, who have already been in three seasons). In this respect, fans of the show can look forward to an “LOL” all-star reunion.
Otherwise, however, everything remains the same: Under the direction and strict gaze of Michael “Bully” Herbig, the candidates have to make each other laugh, and whoever laughs flies – only this time as a duo. In the end, the team that remains wins a cash prize of 50,000 euros – which will of course be donated to a good cause.
