You’re looking forward to “Bridgerton” season 3? Well, unfortunately it’s not coming this year – but the first spin-off from the “Bridgerton” world is! Watch the first German teaser trailer for “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” here.
Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) is one of the big scene stealers in the Netflix hit “Bridgerton”. So it’s no wonder that the streaming service is now dedicating its own spin-off to the popular character – which offers the opportunity to dive into the past of several “Bridgerton” characters at once. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” is about the Queen’s younger years, and even then her paths crossed with those of Lady Danbury and Violet Bridgerton, for example…
On Netflix, “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” will be released on 4 May 2023 – all six episodes of the mini-prequel series will be available in one go. So there will be “Bridgerton” backlogs again this year, after the second season of the main series ran last year. On the other hand, we will probably have to wait until 2024 for season 3 of “Bridgerton”.
NATURALLY, IT’S GOING TO BE SEXY AGAIN…
Golda Rosheuvel will also star in the prequel series, by the way, as the narrator – but the focus will be on the younger version of Queen Charlotte, played by India Amarteifio. The young Agatha Danbury is played by Arsema Thomas, and Connie Jenkins-Greig is there as the young Violet Ledger and later Bridgerton. But the older actresses of these characters, i.e. Adjoa Andoh and Ruth Gemmell, will also be seen in a frame story.
In “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story”, as the series is originally called, the young queen is still at the very beginning of her reign – and her marriage to King George (Corey Mylchreest). How the two meet for the first time could already be seen in a short clip from the spin-off. And of course it wouldn’t be “Bridgerton” if things didn’t get hot in the latest spin-off – after all, that’s simply part of the romantic universe that novelist Julia Quinn has devised. And so the first trailer already serves us a sex scene…
