Captain America: Great acting talent should be Chris Evans’ first.

Succession gave Jeremy Strong his breakthrough as an actor. When things went worse for him earlier, he was offered to play Chris Evans’ untrained Captain America body

If Jeremy Strong still doesn’t mean anything to you, you should definitely finally catch up with Succession. The HBO series about powerful media mogul Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and his children who want the throne is like an even more megalomaniacal version of Game of Thrones.

Part of the terrific ensemble is also Jeremy Strong as Kendall Roy. Before his Succession breakthrough, however, the actor was considerably less well-known and almost resorted to desperate job offers. This includes a bizarre Captain America anecdote about Chris Evans’ body.

Succession star Jeremy Strong should double Chris Evans’ untrained body

An interview has appeared in the UK Times with Strong, who is also soon to be seen in Ad Astra director James Gray’s Times of Upheaval. Here he talks again about his beginnings, when he was even broke in between as a theatre actor.

When casting offers came in, he was told about Captain America – The First Avenger. However, Strong was not to play the lead role, which was eventually taken by Chris Evans. Instead, they were looking for someone to play the star’s younger body without muscles before Evans transformed into the superhero.

Strong would therefore have been a body double, over which Evans’ face and voice would then have been superimposed with the help of CGI. The Succession star briefly considered accepting the role desperately for financial reasons. In the end, however, he turned it down.
