Plot and background
With the Fridays For Future movement, youth around the world seemed to be shaking up adults. But the movement faltered due to the 2020 corona pandemic. Suddenly, the climate crisis seemed to be swept away from the minds of politicians. The biggest young initiators of the movement nevertheless found ways to keep the topic present despite the pandemic.
Director Kathrin Pitterling met again with some of the German representatives of the movement during the Corona pandemic and looks back at what has been achieved and describes their dreams and wishes for the future. They also talk about hate comments from the right-wing scene, the psychological pressure caused by the pandemic and the lies of the politicians.
Just in time for the World Climate Conference on 31 October 2021, “Aufschrei der Jugend” will be released in German cinemas on 28 October 2021. On 29 October 2021, the “Fridays For Future” movement calls for an action Day of Outcry.
