David Corenswet (House of Cards) is controversial among DC fans. Many are looking forward to a fresh start with the new Superman actor, others are mourning their favourite Henry Cavill. It doesn’t help that the superhero newcomer is looking more and more like his predecessor.

Few days old pictures on X (formerly Twitter) show a bearded Corenswet who seems to have put on muscle lately. The visual proximity to Henry Cavill cannot be denied by many fans.

It is to be expected that Corenswet has been preparing extensively for his role since his casting announcement for the upcoming blockbuster Superman: Legacy several months ago. Whether the resemblance to Cavill is intentional, however, seems debatable.
