Fantasy return with Batman star Robert Pattinson is already considered a masterpiece

The Boy and the Heron revolves around little Mahito (English voice:Luca Padovan), who loses his mother during the Second World War. His father marries the sister of his deceased wife, to whose country house the family moves. There, Mahito is not only plagued by deep grief, but alsoby a mysterious gray heron (Pattinson),which opens his eyes to a hidden realm.

Miyazaki, who directed milestones such asPrincess MononokeandChihiro’s Journey to Magiclandannounced his retirement afterAs the Wind Rises&nbsp. In the end, however, he changed his mind and created a film with The Boy and the Heron, which is already being enthusiastically celebrated after its release in Japan(viaMetacritic).

When is The Boy and the Heron coming to theaters?

Unfortunately, it will still be a few weeks before Miyazaki’s new film comes to us. The Boy and the Heron is scheduled for release on January 9, 2024 in cinemas. The German voice actors have not yet been revealed.
