Exciting news for all Avatar fans: the new Netflix series has just been officially renewed for a 2nd season. What’s more, the end of the live-action adaptation has already been confirmed
Nearly two weeks ago, the highly anticipated fantasy series Avatar: Lord of the Elements premiered on Netflix. Since then, the remake of the animated series of the same name from the 2000s has been in the Netflix charts and is causing a lot of discussion on the internet – a success across the board.
Over 41 million viewers tuned in to the new Avatar series in the first eleven days. Netflix is apparently very pleased with the figures and has announced its plans for the future of the project. As the Hollywood Reporter reports, not only season 2, but also season 3 has already been officially ordered.
Avatar future secured: Seasons 2 and 3 of the Netflix series are definitely coming and then it’s over
Netflix has already planned its Avatar series from start to finish. Just like its animated role model, we can expect a total of three seasons. After that, the story is over. That’s a good sign for fans: Netflix is not artificially dragging out the material and we no longer have to fear a sudden cancellation.

Instead, we have the certainty that Netflix will realize the entire Avatar epic in live-action format. And if there’s more need for stories from the fantasy universe after that, there’s always the animated series The Legend of Korra, which could be filmed as a follow-up project for Netflix.
