The Rebel Moon saga continues on Netflix. The sequel to Zack Snyder’s Star Wars will be released in just a few weeks with part 2, The Scarmaker. The first trailer is now available.
At the end of last year, Netflix launched a major new sci-fi franchise based on an old Star Wars pitch by Zack Snyder. Originally, the director wanted to shoot a new version of The Seven Samurai in the galaxy far, far away. Now he has pitched the idea to Netflix under the title Rebel Moon.
In December, Rebel Moon – Part 1: Child of Fire kicked off his sci-fi saga. Now the sequel has been announced. In just a few weeks, we will find out how the story continues in Rebel Moon – Part 2: The Scar Maker. The first trailer gets us in the mood for an action-packed space adventure
Epic sci-fi sequel on Netflix: First trailer for Rebel Moon 2 by Zack Snyder
In the first part, the evil Admiral Noble (Ed Skrein) lands on the peaceful moon of Veldt and demands grain for the forces of the tyrannical ruler Balisarius (Fra Fee). In response, the intrepid warrior Kora (Sofia Boutella) sets out to assemble a team of fighters to defend Veldt.
Snyder has thus retained the basic plot of The Seven Samurai. The trailer for the sequel suggests a cracking sci-fi epic. Just a few days ago, Snyder told Empire that Rebel Moon 2 is “100 percent a war movie” and that we can look forward to “a lot more action than in the first one”.
What many fans would rather see: Snyder announced extended versions with higher age ratings for both Rebel Moon films a long time ago. According to Snyder, the extended cuts will differ significantly from the short versions. However, it is still not clear when these will be released
