On Netflix you can currently do some abysmal brain jogging in series form. Because with a paradox, Gilmore Girls is guaranteed to transport you into unexpected thought processes.
Gilmore Girls ran for 7 seasons between 2000 and 2007 and is currently streaming on Netflix. Basically, in the drama series about the mother-daughter duo Lorelai and Rory Gilmore (Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel), it is actually not difficult to follow the plot. But there is one scene in Amy Sherman-Palladino’s cult series that makes for an absolute brain-knot in one episode. And blame it on another acclaimed series.
Brain knot on Netflix: Gilmore Girls collides with another cult series
In season 7, Gilmore Girls makes reference to another famous series, The Sopranos. Lorelai’s father Richard wears a jogging suit and is then mockingly asked by his daughter in two seconds if he is meeting Tony Soprano for lunch. Just a nice nod from one series to another, one would think.
But even in The Sopranos there is a reference to the other series: in season 6, during a break-in, an episode of Gilmore Girls is playing on television in the background … and that’s where things get complicated.
