Children who grew up in the GDR grew up with the stories of Alfons Zitterbacke. In 2019, the remake “Alfons Zitterbacke – Chaos is Back” hit the cinemas. Now comes the next prank, which accompanies Alfons and his friends on a school trip.

Who will be the new class president? Could it be the eternal jinx Alfons Zitterbacke (Luis Vorbach)? Or perhaps his best friend Benni (Leopold Ferdinand Schill) or the nimble Emilia (Lisa Moell)? Or maybe Alfon’s eternal rival Nico (Ron Antony Renzenbrink), who can always count on the support of his friends Bodo (Jonas Heinrich) and Frodo (Arved Kuhnardt), will prevail?
On a school trip, Alfons’ classmates are allowed to unwind with adventurous climbing tours and nights around the campfire. Things get chaotic for teacher Flickendorf (Thorsten Merten), who was accidentally washed out to sea while playing Zorbingball. Alfons has a special eye on his crush Leonie (Leni Deschner) – but could a stupid bet ruin his chances of first love? And what does his mother (Alexandra Maria Lara) think about it, who has recently got herself a new boyfriend in England with musician Jack (Sam Riley)?

In 1958, the first adventures of the unlucky Alfons Zitterbacke appeared as a children’s book, which has since inspired generations of children, especially those who grew up in the GDR. The first film adaptation took place in 1966, followed by a series adaptation in 1986, and in 2019, a new adaptation of the material was ventured and the action was shifted to the present.
Between Part 1 “Alfons Zitterbacke – Das Chaos ist zurück” (2019) and Part 2 “Alfons Zitterbacke – Chaos auf der Klassenfahrt” (2022) there is a major change in personnel. Luis Vorbach (“The Little Witch”) now takes over the title role as Alfons Zitterbacke, instead of Tilman Döbler. Leopold Ferdinand Schill (“Hot Dog”), Lisa Moell and Ron Antony Renzenbrink (“Die wilden Kerle 6”) once again take on the other leading roles from the previous film.
Further continuity is provided by the adult cast of Alexandra Maria Lara (“Sing”) and Thorsten Merten (“Eingeschlossene Gesellschaft”). New additions are Sam Riley (“Control”), Alexandra Maria Lara’s husband, and Anna Thalbach (“Krabat”), daughter of Katharina Thalbach, who appeared in the first part.
The shooting of the second feature film took place in large parts of eastern Germany from Usedom and the Harz mountains to Ostrau Castle in the Saale district. The cinema release of “Alfons Zitterbacke – Endlich Klassenfahrt” is on 7 July 2022.
