A powerful creature that every true Tolkien fan knows and yet has never graced a Lord of the Rings film adaptation is now set to be brought to life in Amazon’s The Rings of Power Season 2.
Whether it’s amazing villain promises or a reunion with mighty creatures: Amazon’s fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power seems to have plenty of surprises and novelties in store for Season 2. However, the most intriguing piece of information currently circulating is the appearance of a powerful character that Tolkien fans have wanted to see for years
Season 2 to bring powerful character to Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series
Season 2 of The Rings of Power is set to be “dirtier and tougher”, but that’s not all: a sensational discovery is currently doing the rounds in Lord of the Rings circles: fan sites such as TheOneRing.net and other Twitter leaks claim to have discovered that we may finally make the acquaintance of a hotly debated Tolkien character in the return of the Lord of the Rings series to Amazon Prime: Apparently, Tom Bombadil is in season 2.
Tom Bombadil is indeed in The Rings Of Power Season 2.

The character Tom Bombadil, introduced in J.R.R. Tolkien’s book The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is to appear accompanied by his wife Goldberry. However, the extent of his visit to the series and whether it might even be the announced new magical mentor character is not yet known.
Peter Jackson decided against an appearance by Tom Bombadil in the opening of his Lord of the Rings trilogy 23 years ago, as he felt it would not have advanced the story. (Despite this, the character does exist in a trading card game for the franchise).
Ralph Bakshi had also dropped the whimsical forest dweller in his 1978 animated film The Lord of the Rings. This means we could be seeing the mighty Lord of the Rings character in movie form for the very first time in season 2 of The Rings of Power.
Mysterious Lord of the Rings character: Who is Tom Bombadil?
In the Lord of the Rings novel, Frodo and the other hobbits meet Tom Bombadil on their way east. Shortly after leaving the Shire on the run from the Black Riders, they stumble into his realm: the Old Forest. There they find shelter with the Singing and Dancing Man, who gives them refuge and is apparently so ancient and powerful that the ring they put on him had no effect.

Later, Tolkien even dedicated an entire book to the character: The Adventures of Tom Bombadil . Despite this, relatively little is known about the nature-loving master of the Old Forest, who always wears an old hat with a blue feather, a blue coat and yellow boots. Tolkien deliberately left open what kind of being Tom Bombadil is and so Middle-earth fans have been puzzling for decades as to whether he is perhaps a divine being, a Vala, or Maia/Istar (wizard). – Perhaps The Rings of Power will soon provide its own interpretation?
Like any rumor, Tom Bombadil’s leaked appearance should of course be taken with a grain of salt, as according to FoF Amazon has recently been using misinformation to find leaks. So we won’t find out whether Tolkien’s character will really honor us until the release of season 2. The assumed start date for the series return to Amazon Prime is currently fall 2024.
