It looks like Amazon Prime has already secretly given the green light to Fallout season 2. At least that’s what a report from Variety suggests, in which the production of the new episodes is discussed. The California Film Commission is subsidizing the filming of season 2 with 25 million US dollars.

The debut season of Fallout was mainly filmed in New York. Utah also served as the production site for the thrilling sci-fi adventure starring Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins and Kyle MacLachlan. Production is now to be relocated to California in order to take advantage of tax breaks.
The budget for the second season of Fallout amounts to a total of 153 million US dollars. This puts the series in the same league as the lavish Netflix production 3 Body Problem, the first season of which also comprises eight episodes and has a budget of 160 million US dollars, i.e. 20 million US dollars per episode.
