Saltburn star Barry Keoghan joins Peaky Blinders film on Netflix
As Deadline exclusively reports, Barry Keoghan will star alongside Murphy in the Peaky Blinders movie. While the series star will once again slip into his iconic role of gangster Thomas Shelby, Keoghan’s role remains under wraps.
The actor recently made headlines with the Amazon hit Saltburn, which polarized audiences with some shocking scenes involving Keoghan. In 2023, he was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for Martin McDonagh’s The Banshees of Inisherin. As an unconventional character actor with Irish roots, Keoghan undoubtedly fits perfectly into the dark world of Peaky Blinders, which thrives on its eccentric characters.
As previously reported, Dune 2 star Rebecca Ferguson has also joined the cast of the Netflix film from Tom Harper, who has already directed several episodes of the Peaky Blinders series, in an as yet unknown role. The screenplay was penned by series creator Steven Knight and is set around the Second World War.
When is the Peaky Blinders film with Barry Keoghan coming to Netflix?
Production of the film is set to begin this year. It is therefore not expected to be released on Netflix before the end of 2025
