After the success of Longlegs, Osgood Perkins (son of Psycho actor Anthony Perkins) has brought stars like Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) and Theo James (Divergent) in front of the camera for his new horror film. Based on a short story by horror writer Stephen King, The Monkey confronts twins Bill and Hal with an apparently cursed monkey toy that sets off a series of horrific deaths. Years later, when the brothers have grown up and believe they have left the curse behind them, the cuddly toy’s ominous cymbals ring out again, bringing blood and ruin. The horror film was produced by James Wan (The Conjuring), among others.
