Plot and background
Lt. Aldo Raine commands a squad of Jewish soldiers called “Bastards” who spread fear and terror among German soldiers behind enemy lines on French soil. Under British command, they get roped into a suicide mission to kill leading Nazis at a film premiere in a Paris cinema. The cinema’s operator, the young Jewish woman Shosanna Dreyfuss, has her own plans for the evening: years ago she was spared, rather by chance, when Colonel Hans Landa, notorious as a “Jew hunter”, massacred her family. Now she wants revenge.
