Over ten years ago, director Ridley Scott unleashed the legend of Robin Hood on the big screen. Tonight, the action-packed adventure film airs on television
We’ve seen many different versions of Robin Hood in the cinema. Robin Hood, King of the Vagabonds shows us Errol Flynn in a very classic version of the hero. Taron Egerton embodied the thief who steals from the rich to give to the poor as an action star in the 2018 Robin Hood.
Russell Crowe has created a particularly watchable interpretation. In the 2010 Robin Hood film, director Ridley Scott revisits the legend of Sherwood Forest in the context of a gritty historical film that chooses the path of a grounded story despite big and brutal action scenes.
Robin Hood 2 will never come, but instead Ridley Scott is making Gladiator 2
Scott revived epically told historical cinema with Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven. His Robin Hood is in the same tradition. What is particularly exciting is that it is only at the end that the version of the title hero we know from numerous other stories is born. We experience Robin Hood’s origin story, so to speak.

Never the less, a sequel never came. Although Scott has flirted several times with adding a second part to his Robin Hood epic, the project never got to a decisive production stage. Instead, Scott recently surprised everyone by announcing another sequel: Gladiator 2.
At first glance, a continuation of the Robin Hood story makes considerably more sense than a second Gladiator film. Not least, the main character, Maximus, dies at the end. But Scott is sticking with the idea. With Paul Mescal he continues the Gladiator legacy. Here you can find all the important information about the unexpected sequel.
